Dutch blues singer AJ Plug (Alexandra Jolanda Plug) was born and raised in a small fishing village off the West Coast of Holland.
AJ wanted to be a singer for as long as she can remember and joined a Dutch church choir. Her time in the choir was short lived as there were too many complaints about her singing being too bluesy and using obscene language. So pretty soon she got kicked out!
In the beginning of 2014 this talented singer started spreading her wings and wrote her debut album “Let Go Or Be Dragged”. The album was released in May that same year and has since been receiving great reviews from the Dutch blues scene and is being picked up by blues radio stations all over Europe.
In October 2016 she recorded and released her second album “Chew Chew Chew”. This album seems to be literally exploding, not only amongst the Dutch blues scene but she’s been picked up outside the scene as well. The result, a performance on National TV, great reviews and interviews, national and international magazines and music stations are spreading her name and music.
AJ Plug is one of the brightest rising stars on the European blues roots and music scene and with her fully formed band commanding audiences with their in your face, yet highly contagious musical sound. Musically influenced by a wide range of blues styles and blues icons, melting it down in her own vision she becomes a favourite band of club and festival crowds across Europe.
