Welcome to Shangrla Radio. I have made a few changes to the site, trying to satisfy everybody where possible.
It’s a fact that some people just don’t like, or are intimidated by, chat rooms! This could clearly be seen on the old site (which actually wasn’t that old to be honest) by the amount of visitors that showed up on the chat room as green and disappeared almost immediately or when addressed by name. It’s not an unusual situation, it’s a matter of personal taste.
Therefore, the chat room now has it’s own page with all the necessary information on it for our lovely “Shangrilarians” to use whilst keeping the main page free for visitors who prefer not to be a part of the community.
I have also added some improvements to the chat room – we are no longer linked to the main XAT chat network. This may cause us to lose some new members but it will also prevent the more abusive of the XAT community from finding us or joining in our chat.
To further prevent random visitors disturbing the peace and quiet of Shangrla; there is now a requirement to register in order to join in the chat or explore the site – it’s free to join and very easy to sign up.
I have added more methods of listening to Shangrla Radio. There are now 4 ways to listen and they are explained on the main page. The chat room has it’s own player built into the chat box.
This is still a work in progress but I am always open to ideas and constructive criticism so please feel free to offer your comments and ideas in the box below.
