David Bowie His most recognised alter ego

David Bowie, one of the most influential musicians of our times has died of cancer age 69.

A statement was issued on his social media accounts, saying he “died peacefully, surrounded by his family” after an “18-month battle with cancer”.

Tributes have been paid from all around the world, by friends and fans, to the “extraordinary artist” whose last album “Blackstar” was released just days ago.

Whether you liked or disliked his music, there is no doubt that the man was a musical genius. A ground breaker and influential to so many artists.

David Bowie began his musical career in the 1960’s and re-invented himself continuously throughout his career. From his most famous alter-ego , Ziggy Stardust, and continuing with the likes of Aladdin Sane and the Thin White Duke, he had an ever changing public persona. He has left us a gift of his last album, Blackstar, released only two days before his death.

To say “the likes of him will never be seen again” is too broad a statement, but his uniqueness is undeniable.
